Most recently, he has been invited to speak at Lincoln Center in New York, at the Caixaforum in Barcelona, and on BBC Radio 3.  His many invited lectures and conference papers have been given in Canada, USA, UK, Germany, Spain and Hungary. His current research interest is in a combination of film studies and music, and is supported by a Standard Research Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, with the title “The Musical Impulse in Hitchcock's Films.”

As a teacher, Dr. Schroeder enjoys working with seminars, teaching large classes, or supervising students individually. He has been at Dalhousie since 1981 and especially appreciates that teaching in the Department of Music allows getting to know individual students well. He is also actively involved in Film Studies at Dalhousie.
